I was drawn to midwifery through my passion for health and belief that pregnancy and birth are natural yet profound experiences in the lives of families which deserve to be honoured, respected and celebrated.
My education includes an Honours Bachelor of Sciences degree in Physiology from McGill University in 2007 and a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree in Midwifery from McMaster University in 2011.
Throughout my experience as a midwife I have developed a commitment to an integrative philosophy of care informed by both evidence-based research and a holistic approach to midwifery practice. I feel incredibly humbled and blessed to be a midwife and I look forward to working with you to make your experience of pregnancy, childbirth and parenthood a positive one!
I have had the opportunity to live in a number of communities in Saskatchewan, Alberta, the Yukon, Quebec, and Ontario. I love being able to call beautiful Victoria home. I acknowledge with respect and humility that my workplace is within the Traditional lands of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples, the Songhees and Esquimalt, and the WSÁNEĆ peoples, whose historical relationships with the land remain today.
When I am not busy catching babies I can be found gardening, hiking, reading, baking, doing yoga or enjoying time with family. I have a passion for teaching as an instructor for Advanced Labour and Risk Management and Neonatal Resuscitation. I am am member of the Perinatal, Newborn & Women’s Health Clinical Excellence Committee, working as part of an interdisciplinary team to improve healthy equity and delivery of care in Island Health.
I look forward to supporting you in your childbearing experience!
